CPS ENERGY SEEKS APPLICANTS FOR CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMITTEE (CAC)
Applications are now available to serve on committee
March 4, 2022 (SAN ANTONIO) – Residents in the Greater San Antonio community are invited to apply to fill two at-large vacancies on the CPS Energy Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC).
The 15-member CAC provides a channel for two-way communication between the community and CPS Energy. The San Antonio City Council nominates 10 of the 15 members representing each council district. The other five members are at-large, from across the CPS Energy service area. The CAC meets monthly with the primary goal of providing customer-focused advice on utility-related projects and programs.
“The CAC is one of several ways we receive community input and feedback from a customer’s perspective,” said Rudy Garza, Interim President & CEO of CPS Energy. “I encourage anyone interested to apply and get involved. CAC members support essential elements of our success by serving as an interface between our utility and our customers; providing input for our business activities and helping us deliver value.”
Eligible CAC applicants must be a:
- Current residential CPS Energy customer
- Reside in the CPS Energy service area
- Be in good standing with CPS Energy on their energy bill
The CAC will review applications and conduct interviews for top candidates. Once the application process has concluded, the CAC will identify nominees and present them to the CPS Energy Board of Trustees for appointment to the committee. Once appointed, CAC members can each serve up to three two-year terms.
